Seven weeks out from a minimally invasive spinal fusion and decompression, 60-year-old Michael Reitz is feeling great. It’s a world of difference from before the procedure, when he found himself gradually but steadily withdrawing from work and family because of his constant pain. “I slowed down a lot at work, and I probably wasn’t doing the way I usually worked” he remembers. “I was, you know, slacking off because I just couldn’t put up with the pain.”
Michael researched his condition thoroughly and explored all of his options, so that when it came time to take the next step he “really didn’t have any concerns.” He found himself in good hands at the Spine Institute Northwest. Michael explains that Dr. Solomon Kamson was thorough, “he told me what was gonna happen, what they were gonna do.” In addition to making sure the procedure went off without a hitch, the staff at the Spine Institute Northwest also helped Michael deal with his health insurance. After all, when you’re already suffering from chronic pain, you don’t need a bunch of red tape making things worse!
“It took a couple of weeks before I really got rid of all the pain,” Michael says, but today it’s gone. He had been working part time to ease back into his routine, but Michael’s back to full time now — and back to living a normal, pain-free life. His recommendation for those suffering from chronic back pain? “Definitely get hold of Dr. Kamson,” Michael says.
