Dr. Solomon Kamson of the Spine Institute Northwest recently traveled to the Sun Mountain Lodge in Winthrop, WA as an invited speaker at the 2016 Mazama Spine Summit. In its 12th year, this meeting brings together leading physicians, researchers, and specialists from the U.S. and around the world to learn about the latest developments in minimally invasive and outpatient spine surgery.
Held in a relatively informal setting, the goal of the Mazama Spine Summit is to encourage the free exchange of ideas and spark discussion among leaders in the field of minimally invasive spine surgery. There is particular interest in increasing understanding of best practices in treating the spine (both surgically and non-surgically), conservative and surgical treatment options, outcomes from alternative treatments, and what’s new and innovative within the field. Dr. Kamson spoke during a panel focused on “The Aging Spine.”
Dr. Kamson commented, “Dr. Richard N.W. Wohns, MD, JD, MBA and his team of organizers did a tremendous job organizing this thought-provoking meeting. His passion and dedication to our field is truly inspiring.”
Attending events like the Mazama Spine Summit is part of Dr. Kamson’s commitment to lifelong learning. The Summit meets the requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Foundation for Orthopaedic Research & Education (FORE) and South Sound Neurosurgery Research and Education Institute.
