When you’re finally free from chronic pain, you want to experience everything life has to offer. After all, for far too long you’ve been unable to truly enjoy life. Michelle Roberts suffered from intense neck pain that made it difficult to take care of basic tasks, like brushing her hair or driving—turning her neck caused too much pain.
The cause of her chronic neck pain was arthritic degeneration that was impacting a disc in her cervical spine. When her research led her to the Spine Institute Northwest, Michelle says, “I was so tired of the pain. … I was at the end of my rope, really, with it. I couldn’t tolerate it anymore.”
Fortunately, she didn’t have to tolerate her neck pain much longer. “I came to see Dr. Kamson, and he was so nice and confident,” Michelle says. “He smiled and me, and he said, ‘We’ll fix you right up.’ I had trust in him.” Michelle went on to have a minimally invasive cervical fusion at her C5 and C6 vertebrae. Now in recovery, Michelle is pain free and happy with her progress.
“Now I feel like I just want to do whatever I want, and I want to climb mountains and hike and do stuff,” she says. Michelle strongly urges people suffering from chronic pain to come and see Dr. Kamson. “Don’t keep suffering. Don’t stay in pain, don’t keep fighting with the doctors to believe you or to take you seriously,” she says. “Just do what you need to do and come here.”
