Over 10 Years Without Pain: Dwayne Burnell

February 23, 2016Solomon KamsonAll testimonials

Wealth strategist, author, and financial educator Dwayne Burnell is living proof that minimally invasive spine surgery can provide patients with good results not just soon after the procedure, but for the long-term. If you’ve heard that “laser doesn’t last,” you’ll definitely want to hear what Dwayne has to say.

Dwayne first met Dr. Kamson back in 2003, and having suffered from intractable back and leg pain for years, he was “very discouraged and skeptical.” He had visited specialists of all kinds, tried a wide range of conservative treatments, and most frustratingly, had received advice that was “contradictory and all over the place.” “Although efforts helped reduce the pain temporarily,” Dwayne recalls, “it seemed like the core issue of what was causing the pain was never found.”

That changed when he came to Dr. Kamson, who Dwayne says took a “thorough, analytical, and effective” approach to arriving at a diagnosis. He soon had a minimally invasive lumbar decompression, followed by a minimally invasive lumbar fusion procedure. “Back then, very few specialists were embracing minimally invasive spine surgery,” Dwayne explains. “In 2003, Dr. Kamson was leading edge in his thinking, in his training, and in his approach, and he still is today.” Carefully following the post-operative protocol, soon “I found myself completely pain free,” Dwayne says.

Even better, his results lasted—the pain did not return. When more than a decade later Dwayne developed a different problem with his back, he naturally came to see Dr. Kamson again. Dwayne says he got “the same thorough diagnosis, the same leading edge knowledge, and the same thoughtful concern — and the same successful outcome.” He’s not just enjoying time with his family and staying on top of his career; Dwayne also is back to doing all of the outdoor activities he’s always loved, like hiking, cycling, and even skiing.
