I have been a spine surgeon for more than 45 years. As a doctor, I don’t want to operate on the patient unless I’m sure the patient has a really good chance of getting better, and almost no chance of the procedure making their condition worse. The problem with traditional, open surgery, is there are significant post-operative problems. I’ve seen many patients have this type of surgery that are actually worse off than they were before.
The thing that I like about minimally invasive spinal surgery, and the thing I’m excited about what Dr. Kamson is doing, is that his procedures have a great track record for improving the patient’s condition, with very little trauma and quick recovery. What Dr. Kamson is doing could revolutionize spinal surgery.
